BACnet Monitor200 Monitors Airflow Essential to Critical Containment

The Rooster™ Monitor200 with BACnet® MS/TP communication is a full featured, highly flexible, airflow monitoring and alarming system for advanced users. The forward-looking airflow monitor is based on the proven functionality of Monitor100 and Sensor100 products, as well as valued customer feedback. As a BACnet 1 capable device, the Rooster™ Monitor200 supports interoperable building control systems for increased efficiency and energy savings in facilities.

Monitor200 is ideal for monitoring airflow and controlling peripheral devices within chemical fume hoods, biosafety cabinets, and other critical containment applications. There are choices for air velocity sensors to suit negatively pressurized cabinets and ducts, and optional switches and sensors are available for auto-sash control functionality, to increase the safety of fume cupboards. Audible, visual, and remote alarming is inherent to the Rooster, and BACnet capability allows for easy integration into building automation systems (BAS).

With an intuitive interface and on-screen messaging, setup and operation of the Monitor200 is straightforward. The glove-friendly color touch panel display allows users to view air velocity and temperature measurements, along with current system status, in real time. In addition, Monitor200 features password-protected access tiers to limit access to critical functions, data and event logging for compliance record keeping, and night setback settings to manage laboratory air exchange. Night setback mode may be initiated remotely.

BACnet1 (Building Automation and Control Network), is a standard, open protocol that defines communication services used between building control systems and building automation devices. ASHRAE Standard 135 guidelines the BACnet communication system.
