The HT2-500 HotSpotr 2.0 is an underfloor air mover designed to eliminate data center hot spots by delivering increased volumes of cold supply air upward, to the inlet side of server racks. It is intended to be attached to underfloor stanchions in a raised flooring system, completely independent of the floor tile used above it. Using a high-performance DC Fan, the HotSpotr fan tray enhances the effectiveness of Computer Room Air Conditioners (CRACs) and can overcome many obstacles and low-pressure areas of an underfloor region. HotSpotr 2.0 is compatible with perforated floor tiles from all major manufacturers, including Tate, ASM, and Infinity.
HotSpotr 2.0 Overview
The HotSpotr underfloor air mover moves increased volumes of cool air from existing air conditioning equipment to hard-to-reach locations within a raised floor data center. The thermal management system consists of a fan, on-board controller, power supply, and mounting kit to attach it to floor mount stanchions. The fan tray should be located beneath the access floor, as close as possible to the front face of the most critical rack to be cooled.
Featuring two modes of operation, the HotSpotr 2.0 can be run at a constant speed or thermostatically controlled, using inputs from up to two temperature sensors to adjust fan speed to maintain a user-defined temperature setpoint. A convenient user interface with color display allows users to view the status and adjust operational settings with ease.
