Raised floor mount fan, coming soon from Degree Controls

A new underfloor air mover is coming to datacenters. The HT2-500 HotSpotr 2.0 is a raised floor-mount fan tray that you can use to deliver cooling air to high-density servers. It’s effective because it eliminates hot spots, and you do not have to over-cool the entire data center with your CRAC units.

The HotSpotr 2.0 is purpose-built for raised floor datacenters and moves strong cold air from the underfloor supply, through a perforated raised floor panel, to the inlet side of server racks. Accepting input from up to two temperature sensors, the air booster automatically controls fan speed based on changes in sensed temperature. It can also be operated at constant speed.

HotSpotr 2.0 transports 30% more airflow than its predecessor, directly cooling the rack it is closest to, and adding airflow to adjacent racks as well. It is lightweight and easy to install. There is no need for downtime, and server racks don’t have to be moved.

Featuring a color display, status LED, and rotary encoder control knob, the HotSpotr’s convenient user interface provides everything a user needs to set up and control the operation of the fan tray. Inputs for temperature sensors and emergency power-off signals are also available at the operator panel and may be connected at the discretion of the user.

The brand-new raised floor mount fan tray will start shipping this month, and we want you to be among the first to know. Watch your inbox and follow us on LinkedIn for information updates.
