Do you want to increase crop yields?
Transpiration influences healthy plant growth, helping to conduct water and minerals to different parts of a plant and keep it cool. It is the process by which water is removed from the soil, carried through the plant, and then released into the atmosphere. Airflow is one of several environmental factors which affects transpiration, and the Degree Controls remote air velocity sensor can help you optimize air movement in your growing spaces.
The F550 is a remote head air velocity and temperature sensor where the sensing element is built separately from the sensor interface circuitry. It allows you to conveniently and unobtrusively locate the sensor head in one area and the sensor electronics in another. With a variety of sensor head options, you can specify the head style and velocity range that is most advantageous for your application. Analog and digital sensor signals are available to transmit measured air velocity and temperature information to your datalogger or controller.
Airflow sensor data can help with transpiration optimization in support of increased crop yields and improved product quality. Examine the addition of the remote air velocity sensor to monitor air movement in your controlled environment agriculture (CEA) facility, and please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
In addition to airspeed, transpiration is affected by temperature and humidity. Our F-Series sensors are capable of digital communication and dual analog outputs to report air temperature data in addition to velocity. For humidity sensing, please see the FH400 probe style air velocity, temperature, and humidity sensor or the UHS1000 humidity sensor.
Note: The OD (omnidirectional) open air sensor head offers a sensing element which is completely unobstructed. It accepts airflow from all directions with no housing to disrupt the velocity profile. OD sensors are calibrated in one airflow direction and temperature compensated across the entire velocity range. Ask about other sensor head options.
