An infant incubator is a critical piece of medical equipment that provides a safe, controlled environment to keep a baby in for care and observation. Air velocity, humidity, and temperature are variables that need to be kept at stable levels in the enclosed chamber. Multipoint airflow sensing and instrumentation make infant incubator testing easy to do.

A baby incubator test and measurement system may consist of our laboratory-grade USB sensors plugged into a °C Port1200 USB hub which is connected to a PC with AccuTrac datalogging software. The °C Port1200 has 12 sensor channels, so with (5) UAS1000 air velocity and temperature sensors connected, there are still 7 channels available to host other sensors. For example, you may add UHS1000 humidity sensors and RTD1000 temperature sensors to the °C Port1200 to collect humidity and high-accuracy surface temperature data inside the incubator chamber.

USB velocity sensors have profiles ranging from 0.15 – 20.0 m/s (30 – 4000 fpm) and are capable of measuring with ± 3% accuracy. The standard low range of 0.15 – 1.0 m/s (30 – 200 fpm) is well suited for measuring air velocity over a mattress, and PC and Wand-style sensor heads are commonly selected for their robustness.

Collecting measurements for up to 180 sensors simultaneously, Windows®-based AccuTrac software provides real-time data logging as well as compensation for humidity and altitude. You can view, graph, and save sensor data and set up and store experiments for reuse. Each sensor (velocity, humidity, or temperature) which is connected to the °C Port, requires an AccuTrac channel.

Choose from our airflow, humidity, and temperature instrumentation for your infant incubator testing system. Our multipoint solutions offer plug-and-play operation and fast, effective experimentation.
