Milford, NH – February 26, 2010 - Degree Controls, Inc. (DegreeC), the global leader of state-of-the-art thermal and airflow technologies for the electronics and telecommunications industries, announced today that it has achieved the first Independent Test Laboratory (ITL) certification from Verizon for it’s new Thermal Modeling Simulation and Test Certification Program (TMST).

Verizon, in an effort to further increase the operating efficiency of their networks is requiring all hardware manufacturers adhere to thermal simulation and thermal testing procedures outline in the TMST specification.  Process adherence and validation shall be provided by an approved ITL.  DegreeC is the first ITL to be approved by Verizon’s auditors.  By July 2010, Verizon is mandating that any equipment being considered for testing, must demonstrate compliance to the TMTS specification.

DegreeC has been an industry leader in telecommunications system design, testing and manufacturing for 15 years.  Verizon is leveraging their Center for Airflow and Thermal Technologies (CATT), and their contribution to product development which includes the design, manufacture, and sourcing of the cooling subsystems for optimal energy efficiency and reliability. Their team of professionals includes thermal and test engineering, as well as system and electrical engineering groups used in the design of electronics cooling solutions and air flow sensor products.

Charles Nasser, Vice President of DegreeC, stated that, “We’re pleased to be the first organization able to achieve this certification and support Verizon’s energy efficiency and reliability initiative.  Our thermal and airflow expertise are uniquely suited to support both the manufacturer of telecommunication equipment and Verizon’s ambitious effort to reduce energy usage by 20% throughout their network.”
