Board Profiler II
The Board Profiler II is a wind tunnel specifically designed to mimic an ATCA slot or shelf and measure the impedance presented by the blade. The Board Profiler II has a series of airflow sensors that measure the linear flow distributed across the channel and the pressure drop across the blade. The system is provided with PC software that is used to vary the fan speed and generate multiple airflow levels. The PC application then determines the flow impedance by measuring the airflow and pressure drop.
The flow distribution across the blade is measured by the array of sensors and the airflow levels seen in the quadrants are plotted. The Blade Profiler gives the blade designer the ability to evaluate component placement to address airflow blockage and heat dissipation.
